To help you understand how All About Family can assist you or your family member with the quality care we have given since 1999, we are listing frequently asked questions and our answer to each inquiry.

Q. What services do you provide?
A. We provide the personal assistance or companion care needed due to health issues or diminished physical ability. Special care is available for pregnant women who must restrict their activities and we assist moms when they bring newborns home from the hospital. Our special care includes care plans for physically or mentally challenged individuals. All care is based on the individual requirements and requests of each person we assist.

Q. How quickly can you provide service?
A. We maintain a roster of full-time and part-time caregivers that allows us to fill an assignment request within 24 hours. If necessary, we can provide care on a few hours notice. Our telephone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by management to assure you speak to a person who can provide answers when you call.

Q. Will I have the same caregiver every time I need assistance?
A. We believe that the caregiver should be properly matched to each assignment and the level of care needed. We endeavor to keep the same caregiver on each assignment schedule. If we must make a substitution due to illness or other problems, we will assign an equally trained caregiver. You will always be notified of any changes and you will be given the name and qualifications of the assigned caregiver.

Q. Where do you provide services?
A. We offer assistance to clients who need additional assistance in the hospital or rehabilitation facility, and in their home or residential facility.

Q. What is the minimum and maximum number of hours of service you provide?
A. We schedule care from a one to 24 hour period per assignment. You are charged only for the time a caregiver is providing assistance, and you are not charged for any travel time or mileage to the assignment.

Q. May I call you only when I need a caregiver or do I have to have a set schedule?
A. We have two types of clients. Some clients have regular schedules and other use us on an as needed basis. We are flexible and able to work with you whatever your needs may be. If you need assistance, simply call us with your requirements. All schedules can be changed with a 24-hour notice.

Q. Does insurance cover the cost of services?
A. Home care and personal assistance services are covered by most long-term care insurance policies. We will assist you in submitting your request to the insurance company and provide the documentation you need to get payments.

Q. How do you find your caregivers?
A. We seek out professional caregivers through advertising and many come to us through our employees’ referrals. With a reputation for good pay and an excellent working environment, we find well-trained, dependable applicants.

Q. Will caregivers use my car or their own if I need to run errands?
A. Our caregivers are insured with good driving records. They can use your car or their own as you prefer. If they use their car, we will bill you mileage (using current IRS rates) to reimburse the caregiver for expenses. If they drive your car, there is no additional charge.
